Kenneth H. Phillips, 64, of San Diego, California, passed away on September 8, 2025. Born in New Jersey, Kenneth eventually made his way to San Diego, where he lived life fully—and always to the beat of his own drum.

Kenneth was the son of the late Kinsey Phillips and Grace Phillips. He also leaves behind his four sisters—Marie, Bonnie, Shirley, and Debi—though anyone who knew him knows he didn’t always play by “family rules.”

A jack-of-all-trades, Kenneth worked scrapping, in car lots, and just about anywhere a strong back and a quick thinker were needed. He was never afraid to get his hands dirty, and if something was broken, he’d find a way to make it work—sometimes in a way only he understood.

Kenneth was a proud father to six children: Kenneth Jr., Christina, Heather, Michael, and Shawn. His grandchildren, Travon Smith and Oakley Ruff, were his greatest joy, and they kept his heart young.

Known for his stubborn streak, sharp humor, and ability to go his own way no matter what anyone thought, Kenneth left a mark on everyone he met. He lived life his way—sometimes the hard way—but always authentically.
