RICHARD SISTERSON

Richard D. Sisterson, a retired professional electrical engineer, U.S. Navy veteran, and beloved husband passed away peacefully in March, 2025 in San Diego, California.

Born in Canada and raised in San Diego, Richard attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School, where the foundation of his lifelong faith and curiosity was formed. Later, he graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in electrical engineering. He went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Navy before beginning a long and respected career as an electrical engineer.
Richard was the beloved husband of Florencia Sisterson. Their life together was rich in companionship, love, and shared joy. Richard was known for his genuine warmth, quick wit, and a great sense of humor that brought smiles to those around him. Whether chatting with neighbors or swapping stories with friends, he had a way of making people feel at ease.
He had a passion for aviation and gardening, interests that reflected both his love of exploration and his grounded, nurturing spirit and his love of quiet moments at home.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, William G. Sisterson and Kathleen Sisterson. He is survived by his devoted wife, Florencia, his brothers, his cherished in-laws, his nieces and nephews all of whom brought joy to his life and will remember him with deep affection and admiration. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who were touched by his kindness and character.

In keeping with his wishes, a private service will be held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Heart Association, causes Richard cared deeply about.

Richard will be missed dearly and remembered always for the kindness he showed, the laughter he shared, and the life he lived with integrity and grace.
