Phyllis was born in York, Pennsylvania November 28, 1929. She was the daughter of late Herbert A. and Miriam P. Schiding. Phyllis was younger adoring sister to late Doris March. She was a graduate of West York high school and member of Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church. Phyllis was a mother and homemaker as well as co-owning restaurants in Coronado including Captain Jack’s and Bob’s drive-in.
Phyllis moved to San Diego in 1951 to raise her family. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and commitment to her sons and family. Her greatest joys in life were caring for others. She spent many years working with children, and later in life helping seniors at the local recreation center, helping prepare meals and organizing events. One of her true joys was working with nature and paying attention to detail gardening. Phyllis had an amazing talent of taking simple things and putting them together with class and beauty. She was a devoted mother and truly lovely and caring wonderful woman.
Survivors include sons: Robert of Geneva, Switzerland, Michael and Peter Brady of San Diego CA. She is also survived by four granddaughters, five great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
