ROBERT LEE LEMIRE

The family of Robert Lee LeMire of San Diego, California, is sad to announce his passing on Saturday, August 15th, 2026. Bob was born on October 3, 1933, Manchester, New Hampshire. He left a legacy of thoughtfulness and resilience. Bob was the beloved husband of Shirley LeMire for 76 years.

After they married in 1950, Bob served as a combat marine on the front lines in the Korean War and received honorary medals for his special skills as a sharpshooter.

After the war, Bob worked as a milkman to support his family while earning his bachelor’s degree in Geology at SDSU. His creativity and skill landed him a position as a plastics developmental engineer for the military. He designed interior parts for the covert aerospace industry.

Bob and Shirley were blessed with three children, Kay, Linda, and Robert Blair. He was very well liked and popular with a knack for putting together great deals in real estate. He became a Real Estate Broker and managed over 100 agents in his career. After retirement, Bob used his skills and workmanship to build a custom family home. In his later years he built hand made violins and served as president of the San Diego Violin Club.

He was an avid golfer and excelled in the game of ping pong. In 1969, Bob was runner up champion in the United States B division. He eagerly looked forward to playing weekly in La Mesa with his friends until the very end of his life.

A Memorial Service will be held at Miramar National Cemetery, located at 5795 Nobel Drive on September 1, 2026, starting at 2:15 pm.

Robert Lee LeMire will be remembered for the love and laughter he shared with those around him. He will be sorely missed and will live warmly in our hearts forever.
